Aura Community Hall Association Receives Generous Grant from Finlandia Foundation National
The Aura Community Hall Association is honored and deeply grateful to announce that Finlandia Foundation National has awarded our organization a generous $5,000 grant to support improvements to the Aura Community Hall in L’Anse, Michigan.
As a member organization of the Copper Country Finns & Friends Chapter of Finlandia Foundation National, the Aura Community Hall Association was eligible to apply for this funding through Finlandia Foundation National’s grant program. We are proud of our affiliation with the Copper Country Finns & Friends Chapter and appreciate the opportunities this connection provides to support and preserve Finnish-American culture and community life.
The funding will be used to replace the siding on one side of the Hall, an important improvement that will help preserve and refresh one of our community’s most treasured gathering places. As a very small community, projects like this can be difficult to accomplish without outside support, making Finlandia Foundation National’s generosity especially meaningful to all of us.
The timing of this grant is particularly exciting as we look ahead to the annual Aura Jamboree, which will be held July 17–18, 2026, at the Aura Community Hall. Thanks to the support of Finlandia Foundation National, the Hall will receive an important facelift as we prepare to welcome guests, neighbors, families, and visitors for this cherished community tradition.
The Aura Community Hall has long served as a center for fellowship, celebration, and Finnish-American heritage in our area. We are sincerely thankful that Finlandia Foundation National recognizes the importance of preserving spaces like ours and continues to support communities that work hard to keep these traditions alive.
On behalf of the Aura Community Hall Association and the entire Aura community, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Finlandia Foundation National and to the Copper Country Finns & Friends Chapter for their support, generosity, and commitment to strengthening Finnish-American heritage and community connections.
Kiitos paljon!
